Through the Association of American Railroads’ (AAR) Strategic Research Initiatives (SRI) Program, MxV Rail has a successful history of supporting the development of advanced railway technologies designed to meet the North American railway transportation needs. The SRI Program supports the development of technology for revenue service and provides financial and technical support to its university partners with the goal of stimulating the advancement of emerging technologies toward new equipment, infrastructure, and testing methods for the railway industry. The SRI Program enhances railway transportation safety, reliability, and efficiency and ensures the railway industry has access to university research capabilities. GRAND CHALLENGE RESEARCH PROJECTS In 2019, MxV Rail relaunched the AAR University Program with a focus on “Grand Challenge” Research Project topics.
